let's end it here

another two dollars that you don't have.  the price of dreams rose another quarter and the resounding silence is the sound of someone getting richer.

(america) please tell me what you have done.  where is this promised land where the dirt is fire beneath our feet and this freedom is as thin as sand?

a thinker's paradise in every passing front.  convenience in the form of twenty-four hours.  a knife nineteen times in and such decent folk to pass their judgement.

(america) forgive and forget on every corner and the going price is whatever you can spare.  blank army jacket save me from the downpour, somethings can never be completely ignored.

"i put my queer shoulder to the wheel."
i pray for a gun to my head,
the one in my back thinks so highly of me.

and things don't seem so bad
when you can look through bottles and likewise empty dreams.
your life consists of broken means
and you're brainwashed into another fucking you.

it's hitler economics: another man working is another man marching is another man dying.

502

tell me again in slurring words what makes this right, because you can't even think a conscious thought.  and every life you pass on the road is a possible innocent death that you may kill tonight because you had to drink and drive.

because you had to drink.
because you didn't think.
because you didn't listen when we said no.
because you you had to drink.
because you had to drive.
because i know you didn't mean to kill tonight.

black eyeliner

a sulfur lit explosion tears the room in half, and from somewhere someone too loud forces a laugh.  her lip-stained glass fits her well, hiding the scars on her mind, just like the black she adds to her eyes.  across battlefields of tight scarred thighs come insecure men and double-shots of whiskey lies.  too tragic, too often does she pretend that intoxicating lonely nights are a best friend.

growing up as a child was lying and smiling when she could.  staying after school, at a friend's over night, anywhere but home.  the way she wore her makeup was like a slash to a wrist.  the way she let down her bangs to cover up the fist.

what is this pain you've cursed me?
what is this dream i chase so bitterly?
tell me again and again how you'll save me.
tell me that someday i'll leave me.
